About this Program

The Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Program is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to assess and certify informal, non-formal, and formally acquired knowledge, skills, and competencies. This program covers the entire RPL process including identification, assessment, verification, and certification of prior learning against established occupational standards and qualification frameworks. Participants will learn how to conduct RPL assessments, develop assessment tools, provide feedback and guidance to candidates, and manage RPL portfolios. Special emphasis is placed on aligning RPL practices with the Kenya National Qualifications Framework (KNQF), TVET standards, and international best practices.
